Quick Update!!

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for replying to my last blog. :) Life has been so exciting lately. My roommates and I went on a boat tour down the canal, where we saw 24 popular sites--including 24 Sussex! I also visited the War Museum, which was very well done and informative. It was fascinating to see history from a Canadian perspective.

As for work, I've been busy working on my fashion column. Last Monday I took the model shopping, and we picked out clothes for our shoot! We came out with 6 complete outfits, which they are letting us borrow from the store. We also received a huge box of purses, scarves, bags and headbands from another store, and we don't even have to return the items after we're done! :) That's probably the most exciting part for me.

I've also been doing some sales. We're selling advertising space for the magazine, which is proving to be more difficult than I expected it to be. However, I do have two sales under my belt right now, and I have two very promising sale leads for our January issue.

Today was exciting because I toured a hotel that I am writing an article on. They seemed to be surprised that an intern was sent to do the tour, and I was judged a little bit for being young. Oh, well. If the article comes out great, then maybe I can change their minds.

Bible study with Rob has been great. Tonight he showed us the story of John the Baptist, and how John had lived his entire life preaching that Jesus was coming soon, yet John was alone in prison when after Jesus showed up. The Jesus that John had spent his life speaking of would have surely overthrown Herod and delivered judgment. So, when Jesus came, speaking of love and forgiveness, all while John was in prison, John began to get discouraged. He even sent messengers to Jesus, asking him if he was really the one he had been waiting for, or if he should continue waiting. Jesus responded by healing many around him, and giving sight to the blind. How powerful. Jesus wants to know us, but he is also a mystery. Tonight I was reminded again that God is who he is, not who we want him to be. John had an image of God, but that was not who he really was. This was just a portion of the things we discussed. It was really amazing.

Thanks for reading. Stay in touch.

Jen
